Dario Rossi - Mechanical Sea (Re-Edit 2020)

"1959" is a concept album dedicated to my father. The main theme is based on my particular perception of travel and movement, which are both narrated with similar electronic sounds and different at the same time. The double vinyl edition is divided in 4 sides entitled "Moon", "Flight", "Space" and "Land". The vocals of some tracks, such as "The Aircraft", were made with fragments of vocal announcements recorded in the airports during my tours. The plane, already featured in the cover of the single "Lux", is interpreted as a mysterious vehicle that travels in space-time. The album cover instead portrays my father's motorcycle, as if it were suspended in the sky during the transition from night to day, which in this case symbolizes the transition from the noise of earthly life to the stillness of eternity. In this new work of mine I found my Synth-pop, Electro and Ambient influences, combined with rhythms that lend themselves well both to listening and to the dance floor.
