Saint Mary's Loch in the Scottish Borders

St Mary's Loch is near Selkirk in the Scottish Borders.

It is a wonderful place for getting some fresh air and relaxing.

- or just mess about on the water

- there are walks, both around the loch or up one of the surrounding hills
- with panoramic lakeland views from high up or from the shore

- in the evenings you can have a barbecue and beer before retiring to your tent
- and hang out by the loch and watch its still waters in the dusk

- nearby there is a small cafe and you can watch the motorcyclists and cyclists go by
- and visit the statue to the Ettrick Shepherd James Hogg a famous Scottish poet
