In this lecture i discussed one of the important power electronics devices i.e. SCR(Silicon Controlled rectifier). It is Semicontrolled switch used in various power electronic circuit. I discussed the various modes of SCR i.e Reverse Blocking Mode, Forward Blocking Mode and Forward Conducting Mode then i have given the concept of Latchning current and holding current while explaining iv characteristics of SCR.
