Incredible Stanley Hand Plane Restoration

A step-by-step detailed walk through of restoring a Stanley no. 5 1/2, type 11 hand plane, manufactured between 1910 - 1918. The complete restoration includes the japanning process and making a new tote and knob. I bought this plane at the Whistle-Stop Trade Days flea market in Clarendon, TX for $12, which at the time seemed like a gamble given its terrible condition.
