HIKING GEAR I DITCHED FIRST - My non essential beginner kit list items, tips and ultralight upgrades

So many things, so much weight to save and if you're just starting out definitely take a look at the hiking gear I ditched first! This video for beginners will give you some insight as to which of my kit list I just didn't need and either ditched, switched out or found just wasn't an essential item for ultralight backpacking or long distance hiking.

Dialling in gear is one of the first things all backpackers or thru-hikers begin to master. As a beginner hiker, I ditched so many items in my gear list to lighten my load, save weight in my backpack and ultimately be able to hike further, faster and for longer.

In this video, I go over my footwear, backpack, sleep system, shelters, trekking poles, camera equipment, useless items and more. I found out what works best for me on my hikes, so thought it would be a good idea to share that progression with everybody here.
