New peanut-shaped roundabout in Jackson County

This new roundabout is located on the Dearing and McCain roads intersection in Jackson County, Michigan, near Western High School. The single-lane roundabout was constructed by the Jackson County Department of Transportation to improve the safety of the intersection, which has seen injuries and fatalities in the past. This peanut-shaped design was chosen because JCDOT was unable to purchase private property next to the roundabout and had to design around it.
