Captain Yashika Hatwal Tyagi is a Short Service Commissioned Lady Officer from the initial batches of women entry into Indian Armed Forces. She passed out with a Silver medal from the prestigious (OTA) Officers Training Academy, Chennai in the year 1994. During her Army tenure, she has served in intense counterinsurgency and terrorist infested areas of Assam during “Operation Rhino”. She holds the proud distinction of being the first Lady officer from logistics wing to be posted to the extremely cold climate and high altitude areas of Leh and Kargil. She participated actively during “Operation Vijay” and successfully coordinated the logistics, during the war-like scenario.
