Hellcat Pursuit Ends in Deadly Crash

🚨 A Fayetteville man has been sentenced after a deadly 2024 Arkansas State Police pursuit ended in a fatal crash.

According to court records, 23-year-old Noah Cargill pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, fleeing, and firearm charges connected to the January 13, 2024 pursuit through Fayetteville. Investigators said troopers attempted to stop Cargill before he allegedly fled at speeds over 100 mph through residential areas and an apartment complex.

Authorities say the chase ended when Cargill ran a red light and crashed head-on into another vehicle, killing 58-year-old David Pemberton of San Leandro, California.

Court documents show Cargill was sentenced to 20 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections with an additional 40 years suspended. Officials also stated he will not receive credit for time already served in jail.

Police recovered a loaded firearm from the vehicle after the crash. Detectives said Cargill’s actions showed “an extreme indifference to the value of human life.”
