So your picky eater FINALLY tries a new food, and you want to throw a party?? 🎉 I get it! But… *don’t do it!*

Over-celebrating can backfire—here’s why:
🚫 It teaches kids that some foods are “special” and others aren’t.
🚫 It can feel overwhelming—trying new foods is already a big deal!
🚫 It adds pressure, which can lead to pushback and power struggles.

💡Here’s what to do instead:
✔️ Keep the convo neutral: “Did you notice how crispy the potstickers are?” or “Which dip is your favorite?”
✔️ Casually offer more as part of the meal.
✔️ Say nothing! Normalizing new foods makes kids more likely to try them again.

Picky eating is all about playing the long game! ⏳
