As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to shutter businesses and affect the livelihoods of many, some companies are refusing to close their doors despite being unable to pay off their debts, instead feeding off government aid or cheap credit from central banks.

In part 1 of CNA's series on zombie companies, Dr Karl Schmedders, professor of finance at the International Institute for Management Development, joined us to talk about the rise of such indebted businesses and how governments should determine which companies to help.
