MyHeritage DNA Result - Malay / Melayu Malaysia

Hi everyone! Something that I have been planning to do until they have a sale and bought myself a kit. Since my kit is received during the Covid-19 pandemic, Pos Malaysia does not offer EMS service to the USA (the lab is in Houston), so I used TNT Express instead and arrived within a week (including customs clearance).

Anyway, a bit about myself, I am a Malay from the state of Selangor, Malaysia. My dad is of Javanese descent (East Java or so I was told) from Sungai Besar, Selangor while my mom is from the northern state of Kedah.

When I was growing up, my mom told me that I have a bit of Indian blood from my maternal great-great-grandparents (not sure how far the lineage is). However, I was shocked when I see the whole percentage of the result with significant Thai's DNA (not so Malay after all. Lol).

Nevertheless, it made sense because my late maternal grandfather originated from Kedah where he lived close to the border. Unfortunately, not much is known of his lineage though the results may shed some light.
