How to clean inside a Danfoss EV220B NO 1/2 solenoid valve | Step-by-step instructions

This video shows you how to disassemble, clean, and reassemble a Danfoss EV220B NO 1/2 type direct servo-operated solenoid valve.

1. Disconnect the power by dismounting the plug and use a screwdriver to lever the coil from the valve body. (Warning: never remove a coil with voltage applied.)

2. Unscrew and lift off the actuator system.

3. Use a permanent magnet to move the armature seal forward. Check it operates smoothly, and clean if necessary.

4. Carefully remove, inspect and clean the O-ring, followed by the diaphragm. Use a light to check both orifice holes are clear, and clean them with a needle if necessary.

5. Inspect and clean the main orifice and housing.

6. Mount the diaphragm, then the O-ring, and reassemble the actuator system.

7. Use a permanent magnet, or connect power, to check the armature works.

8. Re-mount the coil with the easy click-on system, then mount the plug.
