Man On The Moon, by R.E.M.
For this song I taught myself to play slide guitar as the slide guitar parts play such an important role in Man On The Moon.
Man On The Moon is a great example of a combination of really great individual parts coming together to make a really great song and if you remove just one instrument it just doesn't sound the same. So I really wanted to learn each individual part and reproduce the song myself and I'm pleased with the results. The only thing missing from this cover, aside from the vocals of course, is the piano part.
I've always said that Man On The Moon is probably the best single R.E.M. ever released and, in my opinion, is a better song than Losing My Religion.
