Transgenderism & Objective Truth

There are two cases before the Supreme Court this week about transgender women, so people who were born male and have the gender identity of females participating on girls' sports teams. And Americans have been talking about this for a long time, particularly since the election of Donald Trump and his executive action early on that asserted that there are only two genders and that one's gender is inextricably linked to how they were born. And it makes me wonder about a different question, which is, what does transgenderism say about objective reality? I had a friend tell me that this is a form of gnosticism, which is something that's been around for a long time. There have been a number of people throughout history who believed that the body was relatively unimportant and that the soul and the mind were really all that mattered. It's almost the ultimate expression of mind over matter. But it seems like when we start ignoring objective reality, there are very real practical negative consequences. So we're going to look at the case of complications in medicine, in law and the justice system, and even in physics and engineering when objective reality is ignored and ask the question, are transgenderism and a society that values objective reality compatible?
