I've Got A Big Stompy French Robot! | Bonaparte - A Mechanized Revolution (Turn-Based Strategy Game)

Bonaparte, or to give it it's full name, Bonaparte - A Mechanized Revolution, is a turn-based strategy game set in an alternate world France where there are big stompy French robots!

And the robots have hats on!

We play as a Bonaparte (you get to choose) and we're plunged into a French revolution in the 18th Century. Our initial role is a soldier whose job is to protect the King of France so as such we're sent out to the Bastille to deal with some rowdy rebellious types. Oh and yes, we're in a big stompy French robot! Hurrah!

However, at this point we're then given a choice: side with the King or join the revolutionaries! I won't spoil what choice we make but the game then moves into a sort of Crusader Kings style experience, with a map of France that we can move around with our army.

We can speak to the other factions, we carry out propaganda, we build things in the areas we control to maximise our money and influence, we train up more troops and, of course, we build more big stompy French robots!

Every so often there's a congress where everyone gets together to change the laws of France, with the ultimate goal being to push forward the agenda of the faction you've chosen to align with.

But the main thing is the big stompy French robots. Because they're amazing.
