DIY Stretch Bracelets - How to Knot Elastic Bracelets and Make the Knot Slip-Proof
Make a stretch bracelet with that slippery ol' stretch cord --and have the knot stay. No coming undone, no coming apart. That clear bracelet elastic can be so finicky don't you think? That's why I like to use crystal string INSTEAD of "stretch magic".
In addition to using crystal string, there is a trick to knotting the elastic that makes it slip-proof. This elastic knotting technique makes the knot slip-proof.
In this video I will show you the way I keep the knot tight, and I'll also show you two ways to hide that knot.

TOOLS, SUPPLIES:
Tools and supplies used in this video: e-6000 glue, stretch cord (crystal string), glass beads, aquamarine beads, white china jade, brass charm, wire cutters.
The crystal string stretch cord can be hard to find (none of the big chain craft stores carry it). It's different than that clear stretch magic stuff. It's made of fibers instead of Since I've received a few requests, I hunted down sources. Here's where you can get the crystal string / stretch cord (links to ebay) http://bit.ly/stretchcord
If you are in Toronto (Ontario, Canada) you can pick some up at Arton Beads on Queen St. West on the south side between Bathurst and Spadina.
Update: Don't touch the glue with bare hands.
Don't do what I did in the video and touch the glue with your hands. Use a toothpick or something because it is not good to get it on your skin. Thanks everybody for the comments about that :)
Update: Melting tip from a viewer - "a little bit of heat melts that stretchy plastic to itself and it becomes one" . Thanks @Spahi77! (Note - practice a bit first so you don't melt it too much and **never ever play with fire without being a grown-up or having a grown-up help you**. It probably doesn't hurt to have a cup of water handy too in case things get out of hand...)
