Smart pump safety through tablet based computer simulation

Ninety percent of inpatients being cared for in the hospital will be administered an infusion through a Smart Pump. Jump Trading Simulation & Education Center and CSE Software have joined together to improve infusion pump training for caregivers at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Using traditional Smart Pump training, one-fifth of nursing trainees missed key safety steps that were embedded into the process to prevent errors. The Smart Pump App created by Jump and CSE ensures competence in the clinical space and can actually be used at the bedside of a patient.
