Bookmaking: Three Methods with Sonia | BRIC Family

Materials: first activity: one sheet of paper, scissors; second activity: at least three sheets of
paper, scissors, string, cereal box for hard cover (optional), glue (optional), plastic shopping bag
(optional)
Short Version of Steps:
● 1-Sheet Book: Fold your paper. Make a cut halfway on the folded side. Fold into your
finished book.
● 3-Hole Book: Choose your paper. Fold and make holes along the fold. Sew through the
holes and tie to bind it.
● Making a Hard Cover: Glue your paper onto the cereal box sheet. Fold and use as your
cover.
● Making String from Plastic Bags: Trim the bottom and top of the bag. Cut into strips
leaving space at the bottom. Open and cut diagonally to make your string.
