Baikal Babushka. Songs of life. Lyubov Morekhodova, the ice-skating Siberian Granny who went viral!

78-year-old Lyubov Morekhodova is a real Siberian. She lives alone on the shore of Lake Baikal, carrying out household chores, watching cattle and living up to her name, which translates as ‘love walking on the sea.’

Lyubov regularly hits the ice in a pair of ice skates from 1943, which has turned her into an internet star after a video of her ice skating went viral. Despite hard work, long winter months and unceasing reporters coming to see her, Lyubov doesn’t want to leave her place near Lake Baikal.
