Product Prioritization Frameworks - MOSCOW, RICE, KANO & WSJF #prioritization #productmanagement

4 powerful product prioritization frameworks that I’ve personally used.
1 - MoSCoW
This framework categorizes features into 4 buckets - Must have, should have, could have and wont have. Must-Have’s are  Essential for functionality,  Should-Have’s are important but not critical, Could-Have are features which are Nice to include if time allows, Won’t-Have are the  Low priority features for now
2 - RICE
This framework scores features based on 4 parameters: Reach, Impact, Confidence and Effort.
Reach indicating - How many users will benefit if we add this new feature?
Impact  indicating How much will the new feature improve the user experience?
Confidence indicating How sure are we about the impact?
Effort meaning- How much work is needed to deliver the feature to our users?
3 - Kano Model
The Kano model is best for Prioritizing requirements  based on customer satisfaction.
This model classifies requirements into basic needs, performance features and exciters.
Basic Needs are things which are  Expected by our users and if these needs are not fulfilled, this can make a customer seriously dis-satisfied,
Performance refers to things which help improve satisfaction. - The more of these requirements are met, the more a customer is satisfied.
Exciters are things which are – Unexpected but delightful.Think of them as features which can pleasantly surprise your customers.
4 - WSJF
This framework uses two basic parameters - cost of delay and job duration.
Cost of Delay includes business value, urgency, and risk reduction.
And - Job duration is the relative job size ( usually expressed in terms of Small, Medium and Large).
