W. Ian Lipkin, MD, director of the Center for Infection and Immunity at Columbia University Mailman School of Health, traveled to China in late January to get information about the new coronavirus, 2019-nCoV.
After returning to the U.S., he spoke via about the trip and how he's trying to help scientists better understand the virus. The interview was recorded via Skype in mid-February during the last days of Lipkin's 2-week home quarantine.
