Miniature Viking sword build

In this video I make a 1:6 scale Viking sword. It is somewhat historically accurate, at least when it comes to the dimensions, but the hilt is a bit simpler than many designs on actual swords.
I plan on doing more Viking weapons and armor in the future so stay tuned for that.
I choose to solder the pieces together this time. With nice surfaces and a good flux this makes for a very strong bond. I did some test pieces first and had to hit them quite hard with a hammer to break the joint.

Some notes about the blade hardening, as I had some problems with it this time. I have used my wood burning stove for this before and I can get it hot enough. What happened this time is that the blade warped during the quench so I had to reheat it, straighten the blade and quench it again several times. Not sure how well the blade was hardened in the end but it was at least harder than before. I think the problem is that the temperature is to uneven in the stove for this, so I will have to find a better way of doing it.
