Sylvester Stallone as Han Solo in Star Wars

For the role of Han Solo, Stallone was one of several actors considered for the part before it eventually went to Harrison Ford. In a 2010 interview with Ain't It Cool News, Stallone revealed that he had indeed been offered the role but turned it down because he "didn't want to go to science fiction." He also said that he had no regrets about passing on the opportunity, calling it "one of those decisions you make that, you know, don't look back."

During an interview Stallone said George Lucas and his producers - admittedly exhausted after a full day of auditions - seemed to dislike him for the part right from the start. Stallone made things simple by cutting them off before he even started reading.

"Let me just make it easy for you," Stallone recounted saying to Lucas and his producers. "I would look like crap in spandex leotards and a ray gun. Guys in space don't have this face, I get it."
