In 1995 Mortal Kombat was given a PG-13 movie treatment by Hollywood. People have always wanted a Mortal Kombat movie to have an R rating with strong bloody violence and gore. But the studio has been very reluctant to do so.
That is until recently where Warner Bros have released Mortal Kombat (2021) and we have FINALLY been given an R rated live action film adaptation of the popular Mortal Kombat video game.
