Identifying & Managing Agitation in Alzheimer’s Dementia
Nearly 7 million adults 65 and older live with #Alzheimer’s #dementia and roughly half of them will develop agitation. The physical and verbal aggression is the most difficult for caregivers to cope with and is ultimately the reason many patients end up in care facilities. But identifying the signs and then triggers can help doctors develop a comprehensive treatment plan at home. We spoke to a doctor about it in honor of National Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month.
