Part 1 - National Day of Prayer… But No Repentance? Confronting the Church in Simsbury
Part 1 — Norman Harold Patterson Jr. (www.AbolishAbortionCT.org) attended the National Day of Prayer gathering in Simsbury at Eno Hall with a simple but urgent message: repentance.
We are living in what can only be described as the greatest legal holocaust in history—where innocent children are murdered in the womb every single day under the protection of law. Yet the Church in America—and especially in Connecticut—remains largely indifferent. Abortion is treated as just another social issue, if it is acknowledged at all.
Scripture is clear:
“Rescue those who are being taken away to death…” — Proverbs 24:11
“Open your mouth for the mute…” — Proverbs 31:8
“Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees…” — Isaiah 10:1
“Wash yourselves… remove the evil of your deeds… seek justice, correct oppression…” — Isaiah 1:16–17
The role of a prophetic Christian witness is not to blend in—but to call the Church to repentance and obedience to Christ. The preborn have no voice. The Church must be that voice.
In this video, Norman is confronted and rebuked by a pastor—someone he once attended seminary with—and the pastor’s wife, who attempts to assert authority she does not have. The situation escalates to the point where the pastor begins physically moving Norman’s signs without permission.
Law enforcement was called, and the officers ultimately corrected the pastor and his wife, affirming basic First Amendment rights.
What is most sobering: throughout the entire prayer gathering, not one word was spoken about repentance for abortion.
This is the condition of much of the modern Church.
The incremental “pro-life” approach has failed. It has lulled Christians into apathy while the killing continues. The call is not for gradual compromise—but for immediate repentance and abolition.
This is Part 1 of a multi-part series documenting what happened.
