Geoff Manaugh and Nicola Twilley return to the Strelka Institute for a virtual launch of their new book, "Until Proven Safe: The History and Future of Quarantine." Begun long before COVID, "Until Proven Safe" takes readers into Ebola isolation bubbles, spacecraft-assembly clean rooms, high-level animal disease labs, a nuclear waste disposal facility, and much more—places and technical systems with much to teach us about how humans quarantine. After all, we will all likely experience quarantine again: COVID-19 is merely the first of a new era of global plagues.
