10 Dark Welsh Legends

Wales is a real place, believe it or not. But it has a variety of only partially true stories, or tales or legends, if you will. These Welsh legends are uniquely dark and fascinating, having roots in both ancient Celtic mythology and more modern influences. One of the darkest legends tells of a group of witches who arrived on the Welsh coast centuries ago. They were welcomed onto land, with the condition that they do no harm to any surrounding people. After breaking this pledge, every single witch was slain - but it wasn't just witches who were.

Another tells of the land of fairies, accessed only through a secret door that appears once per year, it contains a utopia run by mythical creatures. However, break the one rule laid down by fairies and you may lose your mind. Others describe black dog monsters, ghosts and strange vengeful curses.
