Iain McGlinchey - Two From Scotland

Iain McGlinchey performs two pieces from Scotland - "Down in the Glen" and "Jean".

Down in the Glen was written by Scottish entertainer Harry Gordon and made popular by Scottish Tenors Robert Wilson and Kenneth MacKellar. Jean was written by Rod McKuen and is the theme from the 1969 movie that launched the career of Dame Maggie Smith - The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, set in 1930's Edinburgh.

This video was recorded live at the Astoria Centre on 11th February 2023.

The organ featured in this video is the 3/18 Compton theatre organ at the Astoria Centre, Barnsley.
