Bob Beamon, an iconic American track and field athlete, made history at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics by setting a remarkable world record in the long jump, covering a distance of 8.90 meters. This astonishing achievement surpassed the existing record by 55 centimeters, and his world record remained unbroken for nearly 23 years until Mike Powell leaped 8.95 meters in 1991. Beamon's jump still holds the Olympic record and stands as the second-longest wind-legal jump ever recorded.

Miltiadis "Miltos" Tentoglou, a celebrated Greek long jump athlete, has established himself as one of the premier long jumpers in the history of the sport.
