How to Market Your Group Events | Pass the Torch Skills Seminar

Handouts, posters, social media, Meetup.com, newsletters, press releases, local television - there are seemingly endless ways to advertise your group's events, but what are the most effective?

Join CFI Ambassador Susan Gerbic and our panel of media experts for a detailed exploration of the ways in which your secular or skeptical group can utilize media, both digital and traditional print media, to market your group "outside the choir."

Susan Gerbic will speak about the importance of visuals including handouts, posters, merchandise - materials that can be distributed to your attendees, or people passing by, to bring more attention to your group.

Jeff Dellinger, Communications Manager at the Center for Inquiry, will discuss some best-practices for constructing and disseminating newsletters and press releases.

Julia Hassan, Multi-Channel Marketing Associate at the Center for Inquiry, will speak about when and how to use social media and get the most for your time and money.

Kathy McKenzie, member of Monterey County Skeptics and a longtime journalist, explains how the group made their SkeptiCamp a success through a combination of smart event planning, outreach to local media, and using online tools and social media.
