"The Ram Mandir donation controversy has entered a new phase as an SIT begins its investigation and key findings are expected within days.

The Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged irregularities linked to donations at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Reports suggest that one person from Rudauli has been taken into custody, and around ₹10 lakh in cash was reportedly recovered during the investigation. Authorities are now tracing financial records and examining the money trail.

The matter has also sparked political reactions. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav recently remarked, “Turn off the cameras, return the offerings, and God will forgive.” Meanwhile, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has denied allegations of wrongdoing, stating that donation processes are regularly audited. The SIT has been directed to submit a preliminary report within 7 days and a final report within 15 days.
