The Petit family lived in Cheshire, Connecticut. William and Jennifer had two children Hayley and Michaela. They were all in the medical field or studying to be one day. The summer of 2007, they enjoyed going to the beach and arrived home for dinner as a family. Michaela would make the food and they would all sit down to watch TV together. Little did they know, two ex-convicts had followed them from the grocery store and had a plan to rob them that night. What started as a home invasion, ended in brutal murder of almost an entire family. The killers were caught right outside the home and William was found on his neighbor's door, barely alive. The question was, why did investigators not stop this from happening when they were right outside the home for 30 minutes, listening to the screams?
