In this video, I take you on an unexpected journey to the Department of Natural Resources to discuss a beloved 880-acre forest where I've enjoyed dispersed camping for years. Unfortunately, I learned that this beautiful area, close to State Recreation Land, has been closed off to the public due to rising safety concerns.

During my conversation with a DNR official, I discovered that the forest has become a hotspot for troubling activities—ranging from vehicle arson and assaults to rampant drug use and littering. In response, all access roads have been blocked, and the area is now considered private property, with strict trespassing laws in place.

While it's disheartening to see this forest closed, I understand the decision. It's a chance for Mother Nature to heal and reclaim the land. Although I had originally planned to take a ride through the forest, I pivoted my adventure north to explore the Milford Mine instead.

I hope you enjoy this bonus weekend video, and stay tuned for more adventures—we'll see you on Tuesday!
