I TRIED BEAUTY PIE...DUPES FOR HIGH END MAKEUP? 🤔
Beauty Pie Makeup is a subscription beauty club that offers beauty products at affordable prices with a monthly subscription fee. Think of it like a Costco/BJ's/ Sam's club membership for makeup...you pay a monthly fee and get access to lower prices! Of course, you can buy directly from their site without becoming a member, but you'll pay the luxury prices (the products are worth it and are very similar in quality to anything I would buy from Sephora) but the membership prices are too good to pass up!
If my description in the video was a little confusing, here's how it works...
1. Sign up for a membership- you can choose $10, $20, or $30 a month. $10 a month will give you a $100 spending limit every month, $20 a month gives you a $200 spending limit, and $30 gives you a $300 spending limit.
2. Your monthly spending limit is based on the regular retail prices, so for example...if you're on the $10 a month plan and you want to buy the Super Retinol serum, you'll pay $15 for it (plus the cost of your subscription ($10) for a total of $25. The non-member (retail price) of the serum is $100 so that will use up your spending limit for that month and it's the only thing you'll be able to buy until next month. If you're planning to buy mostly makeup, it makes sense to sign up for a smaller plan because the retail prices of the makeup aren't as high as skincare. But because I love skincare, I raised my plan to $30 a month so that I could buy more products each month.
3. I would recommend starting with a low spending limit and seeing how much you'll buy...you can always raise it at any time when you want to buy more in a particular month. But you save the MOST MONEY when you spend more.
For example, if you're on the $10 a month plan and you want to buy the Wondercolor Shadow Stick, you'll pay $5 for the eyeshadow and $10 for your monthly plan, so you're really paying $15 for that ONE eyeshadow stick. It's still cheaper than a Laura Mercier Caviar Stick (which are $28) but you're not making the most of your spending limit and spreading that $10 fee over more products!
Instead, if you buy the eyeshadow stick ($5) , a blush ($8), a mascara ($6) and a setting spray ($6) it'll cost $25, plus your monthly fee of $10, so you'll spend $35 total for 4 products. So when you spread out the $10 across 4 products, it means that you're only adding $2.50 more to each product. So now instead of paying $15 for the eyeshadow stick, you're spending $7.50 on it! I hope that makes sense!!
