We officially kicked off Day 1 of our fishing world tour by meeting up with the BlacktipH crew in Miami and immediately heading out into rough 18-knot winds. You won't believe the size of the monster we hooked—it came out to over 700 POUNDS!

Fishing has been in my blood for over 40 years, but this expedition takes the absolute cake. After catching some bait (Tom Cod and mackerel) and navigating past the gorgeous, Mars-like landscape of Madelo Lighthouse Point, the real chaos started.

We missed a few on the lures and pitch grades, but when the big one bit, it was a pure test of strength. The pressure was so intense during the fight that the hook literally started to straighten and open up! Luckily, we kept the line tight and managed to bring up a massive fish weighing in at over 700 lbs.
