The life cycle can last about 3 months. The adult female lays approximately 200–300 eggs. The eggs (2–3 mm long) are laid in damaged surfaces (after Oryctes attack/after rat attacks/after other physical damage). Eggs hatch in 3 days into white legless larva.

Each tested female could lay 270-396 eggs and the period of oviposition took only 9-10 weeks. A review study by Blumberg (2008) reported that the female could lay 300–500 eggs over a period of 8-10 weeks.
