Range Rover P38 # 042 - Alternator, Fuel O-rings and Filter, Injector Return Lines

Most of the things I'm doing today is just preventive maintenance. Nothing is broken or not working, but since I have all the covers off and got the time now I figured I might as well do it as I plan to keep this car for many years and want it to run and work. It'll make for peace of mind and hopefully many hours and months of trouble-free ownership.

I've replaced the alternator brushes before on my black P38. I took out the alternator and performed the task out of the car. However now that I know what to do, I'll try and do it with the alternator in the car. It'll save a lot of work and time. However one power steering line is blocking access and things doesn't go as planned!

There is no Land Rover spare part for the brushes and regulator assembly but I got mine from www.autospark.eu and the model is VR-VW010. The old one matches this part number, and it's worked great in my black the last year or so. Highly recommended and affordable. No need to replace the whole alternator as long as the bearings are good in it.

The diesel filter part # is STC2827.

The o-rings for the in- and outlet pipes to the diesel filter have part # STC2291 (four are required).

Original part numbers for the injector return lines are:

1x STC2843 (return line from injector 1 to pump 30 cm)
5x STC3875 (between the injectors 18 cm)
