Anthropic Just Passed OpenAI in Business Adoption

Anthropic just passed OpenAI in Ramp’s May 2026 AI Index.

According to Ramp’s data, Anthropic reached 34.4% business adoption in April while OpenAI fell to 32.3%. Overall AI adoption also crossed 50% for the first time in the index.

The bigger story is not just who is ahead this month. It is how both companies are responding. OpenAI is pushing Codex harder with business incentives, while Anthropic is raising Claude Code weekly limits by 50% through July 13 for Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users.

The fight is becoming simple: which AI tool becomes the default workflow inside companies?
