SCUBA Diving Anacapa Island (Raw, GoPro Hero3+) 6-21-2014 Part 3 V15954

This segment features some nice close-ups of orange and pink coral clusters, and a leak failure of one of the 4 LED lights part way through the dive. Apparently, it leaked where the cable enters the back of the light housing through a not-so-well compressed compression fitting. Once the seawater got into the housing, electrolysis caused rapid corrosion of the metals on the circuit board and the light shorted out in seconds. The other three lights were still functioning but the battery's smart electronics shut down the power to prevent damage due to excessive current draw I had to complete the rest of dive 1 using only ambient light. Fortunately there was a LITTLE sunlight by then and the water was shallow enough (about 30 feet) for some of it to light the bottom.
