Portugal has become the preferred destination for French people who wish to settle or invest in another European state, due to its proximity to France, its mild weather, its cost of living (30% lower than that of France) and its economic dynamism… We look back on the history of this country which has had its fair share of ups and downs. A former great colonial power, Portugal then became the poor relation of the West, before experiencing a relative renaissance.
