The question is, is it worth spending a lot of money on a phono cartridge when we have decent options like this AT-VM95?

Surely the soundstage may be slightly narrow and the tracking ability is not its strength (especially with the basic styli C and E), but I like the sound; it's not harsh, the frequency response is quite neutral thus it projects the sound quite faithfully. You may miss the sense of high resolution and liveliness of expensive cartridges, but then again, what do you want for 25€?

Plus I bet it can equal the sound of some carts around 200/300€ range... what do you think? Your comments are greatly appreciated ;) You might as well vote for your preferred option in the onscreen poll! (top right corner of the screen)
