G Scale CSX coal train on my outdoor layout 1-3-2021

It was an unusually warm day in January. I think it was about 40 degrees and the sun was out. That's enough for me to run a train!

I noticed, after I was editing, that I knocked the hand rails off one of the dash 9's. Whoops!

The CSX SD40-2 is just about done. The fuel tank needs a little more weathering, a vent shade, some MU hoses, and a couple small detail pieces that I have lost over the years, to make it officially done.

When I first got into G Scale trains, the sd40-2 was supposed to be on coal duty only and that is why I wanted it looking used. But, now that it has it's own battery, charging port, and campac coupler box's..........it will be used for all types of trains.

FYI, if you own a USA Trains SD40-2, get yourself a set of campac box's. They kadee height is correct, they plug that ugly hole that usa trains has, and they are waaaaay stronger. Way, way stronger. Get 'em here http://www.camarillopacific.com/
