King's Bounty: The Legend - Gameplay #5: BOSS BATTLE: Kraken (1/2) [PC]

This is the second boss battle in the game that I know of. The first one was the giant turtle (which was an entertaining, yet very east fight). I was totally not prepared for this battle, but boy was it fun! The introduction for the battle even contained it's own mini-ingame-cutscene which featured a sinking boat! You surprise me, King's Bounty!

But let's cease this senseless prattle! It's time for battle! Flesh will be torn! Bones will be smashed! Heads will be crushed! Tentacles will be severed! Seriously, I lost a ridiculous amount of units in this battle. I didn't really think this through very much. Most of the challenge in King's Bounty lies not in surviving the battles, but in surviving the battles without losing TOO much units. In that regard one could say that I pretty much lost this battle. But hey! You can't argue with the experience I get at the end! Boy was that satisfying!

King's Bounty: The Legend is a TBS/RPG hybrid by Russian developer Katauri Interactive. It is partially based on the classic King's Bounty game by Jon Van Caneghem and New World Computing, which was the spiritual predecessor of the Heroes of Might and Magic series. It's effective combination of wacky humour, challenging turn based combat, highly rewarding exploration and cheerful graphics make this game a pure winner. It's one of my favourite games of 2008.
