Can you Lose your Salvation or your Libertarian Free Will?

A listener recently asked, "If we can choose to be saved, does this logically mean we can choose to be lost, if we can't - does this not deny Libertarian Free Will (LFW)?

First, it should be noted that those holding to LFW are not attempting to argue that every choice man makes is libertarianly free, as as SOME Calvinists are not attempting to argue that every choice man makes is effectually caused by God. This is NOT an ALL or NONE argument.

The point of contention is surrounding man's choice to repent in faith, and we believe that choice is made libertarianly free (meaning the lost individual had the ability to refrain or not refrain from trusting in Christ for salvation). So, we would affirm that one who dies in his unbelief could have willingly believed at some point in his life. A Calvinist teaches that those who die in their unbelief were never morally able to believe in Christ because they were born rejected by God and never granted the "effectual gift" of faith.

This video should help explain the more Traditional perspective. Please share it with others.
