A ride around the neighbourhood on my recently built ebike. The kit cost about $280 delivered to my door (Chinese from ebay), plus about $120 for lead acid batteries. I built the battery racks mostly from scraps around my workshop. It's rated at 1000watts on 48volts. While commuting, a co-worker who was behind me later claimed the reason she didn't pass me was I was already doing 60km/hr in a 30km/hr zone! The bike itself came off my scrap pile. I'm also testing out my (also Chinese from ebay) $56 helmet mounted video camera. The motor kit was the better deal though (lol).
