Chris Packham "Stop Killing Our Countryside"

I want to highlight a powerful campaign Chris Packham is involved in. Each year, up to 60 million captive-bred pheasants and partridges are released into the UK countryside for sport shooting. I was shocked to learn that these birds are intensively bred, much like factory-farmed animals, only to be shot. This practice is causing severe environmental harm, from soil and water pollution to declines in native wildlife, and even risks to human health through antibiotic resistance and avian flu.

Animal Aid’s latest briefing calls for a ban on this outdated and damaging tradition. It’s time to protect our countryside and all who live in it.
