Anvil from a Factory in Oberhausen Germany, bombed in WW2
Joshua Greenwood of greenwoodironworks.com and https://anvils4sale.com/ of Petersburg, Virginia, and a striker forge a single furrow fishtail scroll on a 225 kilogram German anvil. This anvil is part of the Greenwood Collection on anvilfire.com.
Extraordinary damage to the horns and front foot of the anvil indicate that the anvil experienced some ultra violent moments. It came from the Good Hope Mill factory (Guten Hoffnungs Hütte (GHH)) in Oberhausen Germany, a major armaments manufacturer which was bombed in World War 2. We repaired this fundamentally sound anvil to put it back in use, but we left the 2 spectacular gouges on the front foot.
