Saydet Al Mantara Maghdouche - Lebanon - 4k | مزار ومقام سيدة المنطرة العجائبي مغدوشة

The shrine of Saydet El Mantara Maghdouche ( Our Lady of Awaiting ) is a place of pilgrimage shared by all religious communities and one of the major touristic sites in South Lebanon. Many historians believe that the devotion to the Virgin Mary in Lebanon replaced the worship of the goddess Astarte, the icon of Phoenician worship. In fact, many of today’s Christian shrines and temples in the country were converted from places of worship to Astarte, including the Shrine of Saydet El Mantara. Many years prior to the birth of Christ, the sanctuary’s location was chosen as a watchtower for the priests of the goddess. The traditional tale behind the history of Saydet El Mantara purports that the Virgin Mary, as a Jewish woman, was prohibited access to some cities at the time. Some popular traditions say that the Virgin Mary waited in a cave in Maghdouche during the time Jesus Christ was preaching in Saida.

In South Lebanon, at the entrance of Maghdouche village, the Greek-Catholic Marian shrine of Saydet El Mantara (Our Lady of Awaiting) is an established national pilgrimage site. The site has been recognized by the Ministry of Tourism for a number of years, with many travel agencies already having integrated it into their biblical tours.

Traces of a Roman road near the shrine suggests that the cave was probably on the road linking Jerusalem to Saida, via the ancient Roman city Caesarea Philippi and the site Panias, both located at the foot of Mount Hermon.

سيّدة المنطرة هي مزار روماني كاثوليكي تُقامُ فيه الصلوات والقداديس. يقع على مشارف بلدة مغدوشة جنوب لبنان. وقد كان المزار مجرد مغارة صغيرة تعلوها فتحة سمحت باكتشافها من قِبل أحدِ الرعاة مع مطلع القرن 18. وأُقيم بالقرب منها برجٌ عالٍ يبلغُ ارتفاعه ثمانية وعشرين متراً، يعلوه تمثالٌ برونزي يبلغُ ارتفاعه ثمانية أمتار ونصف؛ يمثل مريم العذراء وهي تحمل طفلَها يسوع.
, علميًّا انه من الأمكنة التي وطأها السيد المسيح، وانه كان يأتي الى ساحل صور وصيدا ومعه امه السيدة العذراء فكان يتركها وينزل ليبشر في المدن الساحلية، فكانت تنتظره في مغارة مغدوشة التي اصبح اسمها مغارة سيّدة المنطرة، وثانيها لان عدة بعثات ايطالية ثم بولونية وعلماء آثار لبنانيون، حسموا بان هذا الموقع أثري يعود الى ما قبل 2000 سنة اي انها منطقة أثرية ببعديها التاريخي والروحي وامتداد للارض المقدسة من القدس مرورا بالجليل الى لبنان.
اللافت في الامر، انه بمجرد الموافقة على الانضمام الى خارطة السياحة العالمية، فان اسم سيدة المنطرة دخل على 400 الف موقع جديد في السياحة العالمية، وقد ادرجت وكالات السياحة ومكاتبها الموقع ضمن رحلاتها السياحية للبنان، بينما وعدت وزارة السياحة بوضع شارات ولافتات ترشد الى الموقع من على الطريق الساحلية بدءاً من صيدا وصولا الى مغدوشة، بينما باشرت أبرشية صيدا للروم الملكيين الكاثوليك بانشاء فندق سياحي في محيط بازيليك مغدوشة فيه نحو 20 غرفة لاستقطاب السياح الذين يقصدون المنطقة للسياحة الدينية.
