2023 London Pizza Festival: Meet the Pizzas

At the 6th edition of the London Pizza Festival, the dominance of the round and bendy Neapolitan-style will be challenged by two regional classics in crisper, rectangular formats: Quadrata elevates the base of pizza al taglio, the cherished slice of Rome, to its optimum crunch in Central London. Detroit Pizza London goes deep at Spitalfields in East London, delighting homesick Americans and British converts alike with saucy Detroit squares. Cheese melts down the sides of each pie, encrusting its high walls with caramelised cheese.

Defending the pride of Naples will be true masters of the craft at three of the UK’s very best pizzerias: 081 Pizzeria in Peckham and Fitzrovia (in residence at Smugglers Tavern); Fatto a Mano, with one location in Kings Cross and three in Brighton and Hove; and Oi Vita in Islington.

The 5 competing pizzerias have each choose a signature pizza to showcase.

QUADRATA - Gricia (Pancetta Arrotolata Al Pepe Nero, Pecorino Romano DOP, Parsley, Balsamic glaze, Rosemary)

FATTO A MANO - Il Ribelle (The Rebel - Buffalo Mozzarella, Cetara Anchovies, Confit Yellow Tomatoes, Fior Di Latte Mozzarella, Whipped ‘Nduja, Gremolata)
